Episode 318: Bootlegger Reverse

November 9th, 2018 | Robin

We open in the Gaming Hut, or is all part of an elaborate trick, as Patreon backer Sean asks how to pull switcheroos on players who don’t like being fooled.

Ken meets us in the Cinema Hut to reveal the filmic goodies he saw at this year’s Chicago International Film Festival.

In Ask Ken and Robin we answer a request from backer Lewis Sylvester for a GUMSHOE 101. And you’re totally right, we do forget to mention Fall of Delta Green, because there’s too much cool GUMSHOE for even us to remember. Luckily there’s a whole ad to tell you all about it.

Finally Ken’s Time Machine visits and attempts to rectify Ireland’s 1916 Easter Rising.

And yet somehow you both managed to forget to mention Fall of Delta Green in your list of every GUMSHOE game ever.

Three years ago there was a lecture at the Origins War College about the Easter Rising. The jest was that 50% of the Irish forces got lost, ran away when they came under fire, or just didn’t show up. They never came close to main strategic points and when the British Navy opened it was all over. Our former State Department speaker just rolled his eyes and said “Clown College”. It was one of the better lectures.

    Ken and Robin,
Not often do some of my divergent passtimes intersect, but sure enough I’ve had a podcast cross over. Walking home from work this morning I was listening to The Hockey News Podcast and who should they mention but Doug Ford. Seems you aren’t the only podcasters who don’t subscribe to his fan letter.

Anyway, stay awesome, keep gaming, and thanks for all the work you have both done and my Pelgrane shelf bows under the weight of your books.

    Cheers,
    Laramie Wall
