At the risk of being precipitate – this episode doesn’t seem to be up on the Apple Store yet.

No matter – it’s available now.

If anyone is looking for a connection between Walt Disney and Strange Geometries, Disney did visit the Winchester Mystery house for inspiration while designing Haunted Mansion. It might be fun to play Disney and his team of Imagineers visiting haunted locals looking for ideas and getting far more than they reckoned.

I’m planning Disney Imagineering crossed with Cocteu Dreamlands to create a beauty and the beast style Disney Haunting with a third characters portraying a “cute and friendly Ghoul” as horror comedy.

I looked up the Ripley Scroll in Cambridge, out of curiosity… and realised that I saw it a few weeks ago. It’s in the Fitzwilliam Museum, who may not always have it on display, but who did feature it in an exhibition on illuminated manuscripts. It wasn’t the prettiest thing in the exhibition, but it was probably the weirdest.

    Exhibition closed last month, unfortunately.

Oh, and I gather that anyone who dips into the history of gardening soon discovers the Wardian Case. One can find pictures of some wonderfully baroque examples online.

Aside from their essential function in transporting plants, they were also useful to anyone simply trying to grow plants in polluted Victorian cities. One imagines a General Sternwood type in a smoky steampunk setting having a fine collection.
